Tips on getting to Valencia

When traveling to Spain a great alternative to flying is to take the train to Valencia. Train travel in Spain is very easy, affordable and a great way to travel to Valencia.


Traveling To Spain

Valencia Travel From UK

The easiest and by far the most convenient way to reach London airports is with the Heathrow, Stansted and Gatwick Express.


Trains normally leave every fifteen minutes so it's advisable to allow extra time to buy train tickets or collect them.


Gatwick Express
The Gatwick Express often has excellent deals such as 4 for the price of 2 tickets. The train leaves from London Victoria station and takes 50 minutes to reach London Gatwick Airport.

Heathrow Express
The Heathrow Express takes fifteen minutes from London Paddington Station to Heathrow Airport. It's cheaper to buy tickets online for £13.50 adult £6.70 child. A less expensive route is to take the underground (Piccadilly line) directly to the airport. Tickets costs around £4 and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

Stansted Express
For London Stansted Airport take the underground to London Liverpool Street Station and from there the Stansted Express and within 45 minutes you'll be at Stansted Airport. If you buy return tickets to LONDON it works out a little cheaper.


Ryan Air ~ Cheap Stansted Express Train Tickets

Getting to Valencia couldn't be easier and you can also get cheaper Stansted Express tickets on the Ryanair website when you buy your ticket online, or on the flight just before landing.

Express Class Single - Normal Price Adult £19 (Ryanair £15.00)
Express Class Return - Normal Price Adult £28.50 (Ryanair £21.50)

The first Stansted Express train from London Liverpool Street is 0340 Mon only, 0410 Mon, Fri, Sat & Sun, 0440 Tues, Weds, Thurs.Children under five years of age travel free. The Train Fares page contains the fare details for passengers aged between 5 and 15.

Cheap Flights to Valencia

There are many low cost flights to Valencia with Easy Jet and Ryan Air and you can often get excellent deals with British Airways, Iberia (Airline of Spain), Lufthansa and Air France who are amongst the many airlines which have flights to Valencia.

Arriving At Valencia Airport

The good news is that the metro line from Valencia airport to the city has been completed. You can also take the Bus Aeropeurto (airport bus) to the city of Valencia and other buses to Gandia and surrounding areas and the RENFE trains run from Estacion del Norte in the center of town.

Valencia Airport Transfers

You can be met at Valencia Airport and travel from the airport to your Valencia hotel. When leaving Valencia you can travel from your Valencia hotel to Valencia Airport. Transfer services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Train Travel In Spain

Travel by train from London to Valencia is very easy, affordable and an enjoyable alternative to flying. What could be more fun than taking the Eurostar from St Pancras in London to PARIS (2 hours and fifteen minutes). You then change for the night-train to BARCELONA and when you reach Barcelona you have a break. After this you take the fast (or slow) train to VALENCIA!

Ferry to Valencia

Another way of getting to Valencia is with the ferry. There are many ferries operating between the UK and France and Santander in Spain. They offer a wide range of routes to Spain including Dover to Calais and Portsmouth to Bilbao.

The Port of Valencia is the largest commercial port in Spain and provides ferries and cruise ships to the nearby Balearic Islands of Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza and Italy, Tenerife and Morroco.

Once through arrivals you'll find many places to hire a car and of course you can always book on-line and hire one before you get here.

Where to Stay in Valencia

After deciding how you're getting to Valencia you'll need to think about where you're going to stay. Valencia is full of excellent and very affordable hotels so you'll have no problem booking accommodation.
