MALLORCA

MallorcaMallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands and is equal distance from Valencia and Barcelona.

Since the 1960s, the island has been one of the most popular European holiday destinations and many people such as Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zita Jones have made it their home.

The island has 650,000 inhabitants many of who live in Palma, the capital of the island.

This is a very beautiful city full of narrow, winding streets and overflowing with culture and historical places of interest such as the 14th Century Gothic Cathedral which overlooks the lovely waterfront and marina.

Palma is only 8km from the airport and athough the city doesn't have a beach, there are many nearby at the popular resorts of C'an Pasilla and Cala Mayor. In the south of the island you'll also find the fun loving resorts of Palma Nova and Magaluf.

The lovely resort of Puerto Pollensa on the north coast of the island is more peaceful. It's ideal for families and couples in search of a laid back holiday and full of cafes and seafood restaurants.

There are many more beautiful and exciting resorts and beaches on the island and a huge variety of accommodation ranging from hotels and apartments to villas with pools.
