Mallorca - Majorca Island

Majorca

The lovely island of Mallorca (Majorca) is the largest of the Balearic Islands and easily reached by ferry from Valencia.

Although the island is famous for it's fabulous beaches and resorts such as Alcudia and Palma Nova, many people prefer to make the city of Palma their base and then take the bus to one of the many nearby beach resorts.

Palma

Palma is the capital of the island and capital of the Balearic Islands. It's also where the Spanish royal family spend their annual summer vacation.

Palma Airport

The city of Palma is only 8km from Palma airport and very easy to reach. Transport from the airport and from the center of town is very good.

Beach Resorts

There are many popular beach-side resorts such as C'an Pasilla, Cala Mayor and Cala D'Or and in the south-west of the island are the fun loving resorts of Palma Nova and Magaluf. On the north coast of the island is the lovely resort of Puerto Pollensa which is ideal for families and couples in search of a laid back holiday.
