San Antonio at Cullera

by Jack & Helen Nichols
(Columbia, SC. USA)

San Antonio is a beach I discovered in 1968 while stationed at Torrejon Air Base. I lived in downtown Madrid and asked my neighbors where was a good place to go to the beach. They told me about all the tourist locations. Then I asked "where do you go to the beach"? Their answer was Cullera.

We found Cullera and La playa San Antonio. We fell in love with it. We left Spain in 1973 and have been back seven times. Each time we returned to Cullera and San Antonio. Plans are to return once again in 2010 for a three months stay.

I am not sure why I like it so much unless it is more the place where Spanish folks go and I like being with them. We were in Spain five years while I was stationed at Torrejon.

We lived at 20 Calle Los Arfe in Barrio de la Consepcion and love the area almost as much as we loved Cullera.
