During the summer months the city is full of open air events and festivals such as the July Fair and Festival of Films and the Jazz Festival at the Palau de la Musica.

From 28 June to 15 July 2014

The 18th Seagram’s Gin Jazz Festival will be kicking off with a free concert by the Chuchito Valdés Quartet in the gardens of the Palau.

As well as the interesting line-up of artists performing at the festival, the free Jam Sessions are also back again this year in the Palau’s Hall de los Naranjos.

July Fair ~ Feria de Julio

1 – 27 July 2014

The July Fair lasts for practically the entire month of July and there are lots of things to see and do during the month.

There will be many open air concerts in the Viveros Gardens and  a program of events closer to the time.

A NIGHT WITH DOLPHINS

Oceanogràfic Nights at the City of Arts and Sciences during the summer months.

The display starts at 10.45 p.m. (area can be accessed from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight)

Cost : €22 and €19 for children 4 to 12 years old, over-65s and disabled people (proof of identity or a valid disability card).


Filmoteca de Verano / Turia Gardens 

3 June – 13 July 2014

IVAC-La Filmoteca opens its doors to Valencia festival of films during the summer months in the Turia Gardens (Jardines del Turia) close to the lovely Palau de la Musica.

This celebration of films at reasonable prices makes this one of the best events of the year.
Tickets are around 3.5 € for one session and 10 sessions cost €22.

You can enjoy some excellent films (including some in English) along with popcorn, coke and beer.

Benicassim Festival

17 – 20 July 2014

To mark the 20th anniversary of the festival 10 bands will perform from five stages in the two-day pre festival run-up on 15 and 16 July.

Final headliners for the Saturday night line-up on 19 July – following the Libertines reunion show at the festival in Hyde Park on July 5 the  duo Pete Doherty and Carl Barat have been confirmed as headliners for the festival alongside Lily Allen, Example, Manic Street Preachers, Paolo Nutini and Kasabian.
