This is the birthplace of paella and the locally grown Valencia rice was introduced to the region by the Moors who cultivated and prepared the ground for growing rice.

The Horta in Valencia is known as the garden of Spain.

There's an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables which can all be bought at the stunning Mercado Central in the Old Quarter of Valencia.

As well as looking good and tasting terrific the produce sold in the market is very affordable so great if you're on a budget.
