Alcossebre (Alcoceber)

The lovely town of Alcossebre (Alcoceber) is situated in Castellon in the north of the region of Valencia.

It's full of coves and beautiful beaches and the freshwater fountains in the sand at Les Fonts Beach are a must to see.

Les Fonts modern marina opened in 1985 and has space for 300 boats to be moored and around 200 vessels on dry land. A short walk away is the beach of Carregador.

This lovely marina is surrounded by shops, ice-cream parlours and restaurants and perfect for just relaxing and chilling out.

La Fuentes is amazing with it's fresh water springs and five beautiful golden sandy beaches with crystal clear waters. The Carregador, Romana, Moro and Manyetes are all blue flag beaches.

There are a number of rocky coves situated along the northern coastline in the Ribamar area. The southern area of Cap i Corb has a coastal strip of boulders called the Serradal beach.

During the summer months of July and August there are beach sports such as beach football, volleyball, basketball and aerobiccs.

Gastronomic specialities of the area include fish dishes such as grilled fish and 'zarzuelas', a seafood casserole dish. There are also Valencian paellas, roast lamb and various meat dishes.

The old town of Xivert is at the heart of this lovely town and Xivert Castle dominates the landscape as it's situated on the hightest part of the Sierra d'Irta mountain range overlooking the city and the sea.
