Menorca Holidays
Villas in Minorca - Hotels in Minorca
With Menorca holidays you can combine a city break to Valencia with a beach holiday on this incredibly pretty island which is the smallest of the three main Balearic Islands.

There are many beautiful villas with private swimming pools, lovely hotels and apartments in Minorca. Sandy beaches line the southern shore and pretty little fishing villages are to be found on the rockier northern coastline. The island is very rural and agriculture is of great importance as are the famous cheeses, shoe making and gin (which is made from juniper berries and special grapes). The island is also credited for inventing mayonnaise.
There are two main towns which are Maó (Mahón in Castilian Spanish), which is the capital, and Cuitadella which was once the ancient capital of the island.
Maó - MahonMaó has a very busy port and in the harbour there's a glass-bottom boat from which you can explore the sea-life of this beautiful island. If you just want to relax take a walk to the harbour and wine and dine at one of the many little restaurants and bars that line the yacht filled harbour.
CuitadellaCuitadella is at the opposite end of the island to Mahón and has a more Spanish feel to it. It's full of tiny narrow streets, old majestic buildings and excellent restaurants which surround the harbour. The resort of Son Bou is a 20 minute drive from the airport and has a very long beach, in fact the longest on the island. The golden sand and the shimmering blue water are perfect for sunbathing, swimming - windsurfing - motorboats - pedaloes and water-skiing.
The resort is family-friendly and full of lovely villas, apartments and a few hotels so the ideal location for Menorca holidays.
Traveling around the island is easy as there's an excellent bus service. There are many shops in Mahon and the nearby market town of Alaior is worth a visit. It's very traditional and famous for its cheeses.
If you prefer a more rugged coastline then try Fornells on the northern coast. Although the resort doesn't possess a beach it's a good base to start from. As well as having many tiny coves and beaches on this coast, Fornells is also famous for sailing and having excellent restaurants.
Minorca AirportThe airport is located very close to Maó and as the island is so small, traveling is not a problem. The Barcelona based Spanish airline company Vueling offer extremely cheap air flights from Valencia to Barcelona, Tenerife and many other places inside Spain. If you're a resident of the Balearic Islands you get a discount on flights. Apartments in MinorcaVillas in Minorca Hotels in Menorca
