Peniscola - Valencia, Spain

Peniscola is a very pretty fortress town with an amazing castle called Papa Luna Castle.

During the summer the town hosts events such as the International Festival of Cinema Comedy, International Festival of Ancient and Baroque Music and the traditional Moros y Cristianos - (Moors and Christians).

The festival is held against the backdrop of the impressive Papa Luna castle which is also used for summer exhibitions and activities.

The north of the town has sandy and rocky beaches and a pretty marina with a variety of cafès, restaurants and shops.

The south coast of town is full of tiny coves which are perfect for scuba diving and fishing and the area is surrounded by the Sierra d'Irta mountain range.

This is one of the most beautiful towns in Castellón, Valencia and well worth visiting.
