Castellon VALENCIA

The province of Castellon Valencia is in the Comunitat Valenciana and the capital of this lovely region of Valencia is Castellón de la Plana.
This is a very modern and dynamic city both culturally and economically.
It's full of architecture and home to many museums such as Museu de Belles Arts (The Musuem of Fine Arts).
The region of Valencia is situated on the Orange Blossom Coast (Costa Azahar) and Castellón de la Plana has many wonderful things to enjoy such as a port, marina and a nautical club where you can take trips to the nearby islands.
Near the port is the beautiful Playa Pinar where you can stroll along the promenade, visit the planetarium or play golf on the 18 hole golf course.
The town of Benicassim is situated in the province of Castellón.
Internationally famous for the amazing rock festival which is held here every year in an idyllic location by the beach.
Not far away are the popular towns of Oropesa del Mar, Alcossebre and Peniscola.
Getting to Castellon from Valencia CityThe train runs from Estaciòn del Norte in the center of Valencia City Spain and costs around 15€ (at the time of writing this) and takes approximately 1 hour.
If you prefer to go by bus check with the Alsa bus company as this is a cheaper option than going by train.
Castellon AirportWhen the new airport opens it will be even easier to travel tis area of the region of Valencia. The airport has been delayed for several years and the latest news is it will be opening on 1 April 2012. The airport was officially opened in March 2011, however, at the moment no airlines are signed up to land there.
