Benicassim

Benicassim is 45 mins by train from Valencia and by car it takes about one hour.

It's situated on the Costa Azahar in the province of Castellon to the north of Valencia.

This lovely town is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and the hills of the Desierto de las Palmas natural park.

The backdrop to this spectacular setting are the mountains of the Sierra d’En Garcerán. The name is of Arab origin and translates to 'Children of Casim'.

The town is famous for the yearly Benicasim International Festival held in July which attracts some of the top names in rock to its shores.

The four days of concerts and nine days of camping included in the 4-day pass, along with the weeks extra-musical activities make for a great experience on the shores of the Mediterranean. Lineup so far incudes The Killers, Oasis, Kings Of Leon + loads more...

Beaches in Bencasim

As well as the yearly rock festival this lovely town is famous for it's 6km of blue flag golden beaches include Voramar, Tunny net, San Vicente, Els Terrers and Heliópolis.

Nearby are the towns of Oropesa with fast trains to Barcelona and Valencia.

The lovely town of Peñiscola with its dramatic Luna Castle, Alcossebre and Castellón de la Plana which is the capital of the area.

The attraction of towns like this is that in contrast to the Costas of the south of Spain, the Costa del Azahar is still very Spanish.
