Valencian Institute of Modern Art ~ IVAM

IVAM - Institute of Modern Art in Valencia Spain
The Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) is one of Spain’s most famous Art Galleries.

Situated in the trendy and fashionable area of Barrio del Carmen in the Old Quarter of Valencia.

This lovely art gallery has two premises – the Centre Julio González which opened in 1989, and the Sala de la Muralla which opened in 1991.

In the Centre Julio Gonzáles there’s a permanent exhibition of the Catalan metal sculptor’s work and the total floor space is occupied by eight galleries.

IVAM focuses on the evolutionary process of art. From the crisis of the classical avant-garde up to the seventies.

The gallery exhibits photography from the beginning to the present day with special emphasis on photomontage.
