The 59th edition of Sueca’s International Paella Competition

15 September 2019

The Contest dates back to 1961 and in 1990 the event became international and was extended to Europe, United States and Japan.

Once the participation abroad was consolidated the Valencian Paella recipe was certified and the Celebration of the International Competition was declared as an event of National tourist attraction. The international semi-finals will take place in Costa Rica, USA, France, Mexico and Peru.

Getting to Sueca from Valencia:  The best way to get from Valencia to Sueca is to take the train which takes 30 minutes from Estacion Del Norte in Valencia town center.

Music by the beach ~ Playa de La Malvarrosa

5 – 8 September 2019
PRICE: Free

A superb stage set on the sand will feature three great events of the “Musica a la mar” season at La Malvarrosa from the 5th to the 8th of September.

Jazz Thursday 5th September: The Sedajazz Big Band will present the Latin Jazz Party show with a variety of salsa, Brazil, funky music by Tito Puente, Celia Cruz or Bebo Valdés.

Symphonic music Saturday 7th September: The Orquesta de València will perform well-known pieces such as Ravel’s El Bolero, Rimski-Korsakov’s Capricho Español or Manuel de Falla’s short life dances.

Film Music Sunday 8th September: It is the turn of the Banda Sinfónica del Marítimo (Maritime Symphonic Band) featuring film soundtracks from all times.

All concerts are free. There will be 1,000 seats, two big screens and a sound delay so that music can be heard with quality even if you are far from the stage.
