ibiza

Ibiza (White Island in Spanish and Eivissa in Catalan) is one of the Balearic Islands (Islas de Baleares) and although the official language is Catalan, the majority of people also speak Spanish.

This lovely little island is 45 km long and 25 km wide and as well as having a pulsating nightlife, it's also great for families with some of the best beaches in the Balearic Islands.

There are many peaceful villages such as S'Argamassa and Santa Eulalia and the laid back village of San Juan still attracts intellectuals and musicians who enjoy it's hippy culture.

The island gets its name from the picturesque inland villages that are full of white-washed houses and lemon groves.

The town of Portinatx has stunning scenery and is popular with families and Ibiza Town is where all the action. There are many lovely beaches such as Playa d’en Bossa and if you like culture and history the town is full of historical sites.
