Puerto Pollensa

Majorca Island

Puerto Pollensa is the most northerly point of Majorca Island. The beautiful village of Deia and the town of Soller are on the other side of the stunning Tramantana mountains from this lovely resort.

Set on a large bay next to the resort of Alcudia is the pretty marina surrounded by restaurants, cafes and hotels. Many tourists visit this resort every year and it's become very popular with the British. They love it so much that many have made it their home.

The resort is very laid back with a long sandy beach offering a variety of watersports. The water is shallow making it ideal for small children and families.

A number of famous people have stayed here and the author Agatha Christie was so inspired by the area that she based the fictional hotel 'Pino d'Or' in her novel 'Problems at Pollenca Bay'.

Visit the Sunday morning market in the Placa Mayor and on Wednesday the market at the port. There are many interesting sites to visit such as the ancient Puig de Calvari (Calvari Church) which you reach via 350 steps along a tree lined walk. Once on the top you are rewarded with amazing views of the town and the sea.

Placa Mayor is in the heart of the old town full of lovely cafes and bars and excellent restaurants where you can enjoy Mallorcan cuisine.
