Things To Do In Majorca

...Majorca Attractions

Best Majorca Attractions...

Palma Marina

Some of the best things to do in Majorca include visiting the stunning Majorca beaches which the island is so famous for.

The island has over 300 days of sunshine and this is definitely one of the main Majorca attractions.

The fantastic climate makes this a popular destination all year round.

Whether you're sunning yourself on one of the many lovely beaches or strolling around the trendy and up-market city of Palma, you're definitely spoilt for things to do.

There are many amazing Majorca Tours which include sightseeing, boat trips and the popular hop on hop off bus in Palma.

Palma Mallorca

The island is famous for it's nightlife which Sinatra, Ava Gardner and many other jet setters enjoyed at the popular waterfront club in Palma Mallorca.

Visit one of the lovely restaurants in Palma overlooking the marina and then dance the night away at one of the clubs and bars the island is so famous for.

Luxurious yachts line the waterfront of Palma and the stunning Gothic Cathedral, which Antoni Gaudi restored in 1902, dominates the skyline of this truly lovely city.

Popular things to do in Majorca include visiting the hill-top castle and strolling around the marina in Palma.

Visit one of the many museums and art galleries and shop in the trendy shops and boutiques which line the narrow cobbled streets of the city.

Beach Resorts in Majorca

Palma

There are many lovely beach resorts close to the stunning city of Palma such as Palma Nova, Magaluf and Portals Nous.

Resorts in the north include Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa.

Majorca island is very moutainous with stunning scenic views which can be enjoyed by hiring a car.

If you prefer you can take one of the many day trips from the city center of Palma (or the resorts of the island) or just use local transport.

Soller Train

Soller Train

One of the best things to do in Majorca is to take a trip on the Soller train from Placa de Espanya in Palma to the town of Soller through the Serra de Tramuntana (Tramuntana mountains).

The journey is amazing and the scenery stunning with almond, lemon and orange trees so close you can smell them. From here you take the tram through orchards of oranges and lemons to the lovely Puerto Soller (Soller Port).

Deia & Valdemossa

Majorca

We chose to travel by bus from Palma to Valldemossa and then on to the village of Deia where the novelist and poet Robert Graves lived for many years.

This mountain retreat is surrounded by the Serra de Tramuntana and not far from the town and port of Soller. If you come up the coastal route it's a good idea to take the train back to Palma. Both routes are amazing and something you will never forget.

There are two bus routes. One travels along the coast and provides the most breathtaking views of the coast. However, if you're afraid of heights, you might prefer the inland route.

In 1839 the Polish composer Frederic Chopin and the French writer George Sand spent a few days in the pretty town of Valldemossa which is not far from Deia. The area is beautiful and very relaxing so many visitors to Majorca spend a few days here before heading back to Palma.
