Car Hire in Majorca

...Car Rentals in Spain

car hire in majorcaCar hire in Majorca is easy to arrange online and you just collect the car from the airport in Palma when you arrive.

There are so many stunning landscapes and beautiful beaches to enjoy so it really is worth having a car rental in Spain.

Coastal Roads in Majorca

Hiring a car gives you the independence to stop whenever you feel like it and enjoy a drink or meal at one of the many lovely Majorcan restaurants.

The coastal route from Deia to Soller is the most beautiful of them all and also the most dramatic.

There are many hair-raising hairpin bends along the mountainous north-west coast which many drivers may not like.

For many years people had no choice but to take this route which although very beautiful is quite scary. If you don't like heights take the route through the mountains from Soller to Palma.

Driving in Palma Majorca

Palma Mallorca

Driving around Palma can be tiring as the streets are sometimes very narrow and traffic does build up.

The best place to park is at Parc de la Mar on Paseo Maritimo (close to Palma Cathedral (La Seu) and Almudena Palace which are close to the historical part of the city).

Outside the car park and facing the cathedral is a ceramic mural by the late Catalan artist Joan MirĂ³ who was born in Barcelona but lived in Majorca from 1956 until his death in 1983.

Rules for Driving in Majorca

The rules and regulations for driving in Majorca are the same as in the rest of Spain.

You drive on the right and seat belts are compulsory. Children under ten year of age must travel in the back seat.
