National Day & Sant Donis (Sant Dionís) Patron Saint of Lovers, Festivals in Valencia
The 9 October is the National Day of the autonomous region of Valencia and also San Donís Day (Valencian) St. Dyonisius (Spanish). Also known as Día de la Mocadorà (the day of the handkerchief) as handkerchiefs are filled with tiny marzipan shapes and given to the one you love, it’s a bit like St Valentine’s day.

This is great for sailing professionals, but also for families taking a stroll around the port – immerse yourselves in the marine world of this popular area of the city.
Valencia Boat Show is a trade fair set up by and for the nautical industry, and in addition to the extensive range of boats on display it also features other sports, such as surfing, paddle surfing, kayaking and diving . Due to its success, this year an additional 16,000 m2 has been added to the exhibition space.

Concerts at the bandstand in the Marina on Saturdays & Sundays
La Marina de València – From 22 September to 16 December 2018
València is a city offering outdoor concerts beside the sea all year round.
València Marina hosts two seasons of concerts at the renovated modernist bandstand in Plaça de la Sal.
Saturdays are rock music – the bandstand will host music groups while experts in traditional cuisine prepare the best menus. Sundays – Bandstand Concerts include music bands from València’s seaside districts. To find out what bands will be performing visit the website. Performances will take place at midday, from 11:30 onward – admission is free.
